Tuscany and Umbria
In this particular area of Italy, the territories of Perugia, Arezzo
and Siena meet together, forming the famous Ancient Etruscan Road, while
the local archaeological findings attest the natural vocation of this area
for olive and grapevine cultivation (Pliny the Elder, Naturalis Historiae).
The historical influences persist in local idioms and also reflect themselves
in a wine tradition which is oriented toward the production of red wines
destined for ageing.
