Environment
The company’s vineyards are situated at an altitude of 450-500 meters
a.s.l., on the slopes of the Umbrian hills going down towards the Valdichiana
area.
At the beginning of the 1990’s, the necessary chemical and physical soil
analyses were carried out to identify different soil types of the territory
in order to make the correct choice of rootstocks, depending on the type
of soil.
The particular meteorological and climatic location of this area, characterized
by rainy, cold winters and dry, hot summers, permits the correct maturation
of grapes, which in the last few years was definitely earlier than usual.
The grape harvest takes place from August to September; grapes are picked
by hand, transported to the wine cellar and immediately processed.
